Request a Speaker FAQ

What is 3G Philly?
3G Philly is a community of grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. We share our grandparents’ stories to keep their memories alive and inspire others to stand against antisemitism, hatred, and intolerance.

Who are the speakers?
Our speakers are grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. We share the personal stories passed down in our families, along with photos and memories that bring history to life.  Feel free to browse our speaker bios.

What types of organizations can request a speaker?
We welcome requests from schools (middle, high school, and college), community organizations, religious institutions, nonprofits, and other groups interested in Holocaust education and remembrance.

What does a presentation look like?

Each talk is personal and unique. A speaker will share their grandparent’s story, often with photographs or documents, and connect it to today’s world. Every presentation includes time for questions and conversation.

How long is a presentation?
Our visits can be flexible based on what works for your group.

Is there a cost to host a speaker?
There is no set fee for a speaker. We are grateful for donations, which allow us to continue offering programs to schools and community groups.

Would the speaker have to speak to the whole grade or can they come to one classroom?

Depending on our speaker’s availability, they can speak to an entire grade through an arranged assembly or to individual or combined classes.

Can presentations be virtual?
Yes, we offer both in-person and virtual talks depending on your needs.

How much notice is needed to schedule a speaker?
We recommend submitting a request as early as possible -  at least 4–6 weeks before your desired date. This helps ensure we can match you with an available speaker.

How do I request a speaker?
Complete the “Request a Speaker” form on our website. A member of the 3G Philly team will follow up to confirm details and coordinate with you.

How should we prepare our audience?
For schools and youth groups, we recommend introducing students to Holocaust history ahead of time. We can recommend resources and lesson plans to support learning.  You may want to have students prepare some questions ahead of time.

What equipment will the speaker need?

  • Projector/screen

  • Computer or connection to your laptop

  • Speakers (if video/audio is included)

  • Internet access (if needed)

  • Microphone (if needed)

Can we request a specific speaker?
If there is someone you’d especially like, let us know. We’ll do our best to honor your request.  Each of our speakers provide short summaries of their grandparent’s survival story.

Do speakers adapt for younger audiences?
Yes. Presentations for middle school students use age-appropriate language and content.
