Past Mitzvah Projects
Siena V. spent time getting to know the stories of her great grandparents who were Holocaust survivors. For her project, Siena created beautiful keychains and bracelets and donated all proceeds to 3G Philly.
Sarah G. coordinated a session with her Sunday school class to listen to a 3G Philly member share her grandfather's story and then paint rocks to later be presented to the Philadelphia Horwitz-Wasserman Holocaust Memorial for Yom HaShoah.
Some participants have learned to tell their own family stories and presented to community gatherings (at their synagogue, local library, middle schools and more!). Some have participated in panels too!
Ask us how your family can get involved too!
We invite you to connect with one of our 3G's (grandchildren of Holocaust Survivors). There are so many additional opportunities and ideas to incorporate Holocaust awareness into your mitzvah experience.
Connecting with an organization that assigns "twins"-- a child who did not survive the Holocaust and was not yet old enough to have his or her own bar or bat mitzvah
Building a recipe book with favorite recipes from family members and stories that have been passed down for generations, so other family members will know the family history
Sharing age-appropriate resources for students to learn more about the Holocaust
