Join 3G Philly and our partners for an online workshop to turn intergenerational trauma into comedy gold.
From ghettos to work camps to death marches, Jews sang in the face of horror, they observed holidays, celebrated weddings and bar mitzvahs - and they told jokes. They refused to let their humanity be taken from them even when their lives were at stake. Humor was both a coping mechanism and a way to stand up to those who would dehumanize them.
Through this lens, teacher and fellow 3G Dina Gusovsky will help participants start developing their comedy instincts wile incorporating their families' experiences into the comedic structure. Participants will have an opportunity to start writing, ask questions, and to receive feedback from Dina.
Dina Gusovsky is an award-winning Journalist and six-time Emmy award-nominated writer and performer for her work on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Prior to Late Night, Dina was a Television Reporter and even won the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Investigative Journalism. She has run comedy writing workshops, including at the Walnut Street Theater. Dina is also a member of 3G Philly's Program Committee.
